Let's get Art-ing!

Hey all! This is the first blog I've ever posted, so it seems right to just start by telling you a little more about myself, my journey, and we'll go from there!

My name is Siara Yazmin, I've been an "artist" since I was very young, although I never would have called myself one during that time. I started, I think like most other people do, just doodling and sketching little cartoons on paper, on margins of notebooks, and then grew to drawing almost all the time when I got a sketchbook. I was a very introverted kid, and didn't know how to express myself very well through words (sometimes still don't), but I've always found it easy to express myself with art. This became my "safe space" and the ways that I could break away from the world and dive into my own, imaginative, but most importantly free, world. I think it was during this time where I really found my love and appreciation for art. Now, I'm a full time artist and I'm turning my passionate hobby into a career path!

There's still so much learning that I have to do, with the business side of things as well as just improving overall technically. Building my portfolio, building a business, marketing, reaching out to galleries, being a part of an art community, plus handling my day to day life as well - there's a lot of learning and adjustments being made! I quit my old job as a nanny in September of 2022, and I've been slowly building my art business and know it's going to continue being a journey full of ups and downs. I think that's what I love about this so much, no matter what happens, it's all in my hands and I can keep on pushing and digging deeper and deeper to make my dream a reality. I thank my boyfriend who, not only is my biggest fan, but likes to remind me "You only lose if you quit," and I'm excited to say that I sure as hell won't be quitting.

I can't wait to keep growing, keep getting more organized, keep learning, and share my art and my soul to everyone who's interested in seeing it. I hope you join me on my journey and get to see wonderful art as well as join in on some art appreciation.
